Dr. Alyssa N. Clark
I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of Wooster who studies LGBTQ+ relationships, physical behavior, and healthy relationship stability.
My Approach
Interdisciplinary
I received my Master’s in developmental psychology from Illinois State University, and my Doctorate in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Connecticut. Due to my unique training, I use a multi-dimensional approach that incorporates feminist, queer, and developmental theories to study healthy relationships, behavior, and sexuality.
LGBTQIA+
I dedicate much of my research to examining the ways in which LGBTQ+ relationships function in unique ways compared to cisgender heterosexual relationships. I also endeavor to create and validate physical behavior constructs tailored for LGBTQ+-inclusive audiences to better identify sexual experiences and healthy relationship functioning.
